This is a blog that I wrote in February half term in 2008.

Choir practice as usual this morning. We sang an anthem in four parts and I had the lower Dec part – OK for me but the other two boys couldn’t do it in harmony! School was pretty much as expected but in the afternoon we did 10 mins aerobics and I got a House Point. Woohoo! After Evensong, as it’s Shrove Tuesday, I’m hoping we go out for Pancakes. Yum!

After school, I went to my friend Alex’s house. We played in his room and watched Chicken Run on his TV. Then we stuffed ourselves with pizza and chips and baked beans, then pancakes, chocolate spread and grapes, all washed down with gallons of squash!  While Alex and I were having fun, Jessie and Daddy were singing Evensong live on BBC Radio 3!!

On Monday, I went with my Dad and my sisters to Gorhambury House on our bikes. We cycled about one and a half miles before stopping to have a drink. We cycled a little further and stopped at a small field to admire some horses. One let us stoke it but the other was too busy showing off! Finally we cycled on and found some old ruins with broken walls that are perfect for climbing on.

In the morning, my sister Emily went to Luton hospital to have her ears checked. While she was at the hospital, my older sister Jessica and I played in a nearby playground. Soon, we went back to pick up Emily and Mummy said that on Sunday she is going to have her tonsils out!  In the evening, I went with my family to a restaurant called ‘Crepes’ which is French for pancakes.

Before lunch, two friends and their mum, Paula, came to our house. First, we played in the garden; we climbed the apple tree and played ‘It’. Then we went in to have lunch.  In the afternoon, we made a CD for infant assemblies. We sang lots of songs for young children and recorded them. Then Mummy copied them to a CD and gave it to Paula to use at her school.

Today, I went to London to visit the Science Museum. I went with my sisters, my dad and one of Jessica’s friends.

We went on the train to St Pancras station and saw the magnificent high roof all painted blue. We saw two statues, one of the poet John Betjemen and another, a nine metre high couple, kissing! From St Pancras, we went on the tube across to South Kensington and the Science Museum. We saw lots of different things in the museum but I particularly liked seeing some unusual cars – three wheeled cars like a BMW that had the door at the front and a Rover powered by a jet engine – and some amazing calculating machines designed by Charles Babbage in 1868 and were the very first computers.

My favourite part of the museum was a simulator. First we watched a safety video and then a short film introducing the ‘science crew’ and their amazing all-terrain vehicle. We then went into another room and buckled up in our seats ready for the ride. The screen in front of us looked like the window from the vehicle and it really felt like we were bumping over the rocky terrain. We crashed through trees and were met by a herd of brachiosaurs which we had to dodge but were bumped by their huge feet. All of a sudden, we were plunging over a cliff and were grabbed by a pterodactyl which took us high over the island and its volcano. Finally, we landed with a thump and suddenly ran into a T-rex! He roared at us and we felt his saliva for real! My glasses were covered and I could hardly see a thing! I came out feeling dizzy but happy and excited.
